Turley secures planning permission for the redevelopment of Claverings Industrial Estate in north London
Following unanimous approval by Enfield’s planning committee, permission has been granted for the redevelopment of an existing, outdated industrial estate to provide a modern seven-unit industrial and logistics park.
Acting on behalf of Danescroft (FRELD Claverings) LLP, we recently secured consent for a transformative industrial and logistics scheme which will secure the long-term future of a designated employment site that has lacked investment in recent decades and has become underutilised, inefficient and no longer able to meet the needs of modern businesses.
We provided Planning and Economics services for the project, which will deliver seven flexible units ranging from 990 sq m to 2,729 sq m, totalling c.11,700 sq m site-wide. Situated just off the A406 North Circular, Claverings Industrial Estate benefits from excellent connectivity to the M25, M11, and A10, making it an ideal base for industrial, trade, and logistics occupiers. All units meet BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPA A+ ratings, achieving eaves heights of 10-12 metres (clear).
As part of our involvement, we navigated the project through the planning stages, which included the development of a robust narrative concerning the demolition of the existing estate, the intensification of employment-generating uses and the site’s relationship with its surrounding context. Construction is now underway and expected to be completed by Q3/2026. Find out more here: https://claverings-edmonton.co.uk/
Sam Pheasant, Director at Danescroft, said:
"It has been enjoyable, as ever, working with the Turley team, with valued input and advice from the outset, to see this underutilised and complex brownfield site come to life, in what will be a ‘Grade A’ industrial and logistics hub, offering much needed, high-quality space and employment opportunities for the area."
Director, Christopher Schiele added:
“We thoroughly enjoyed assisting Danescroft in obtaining planning permission for this underutilised employment site in Edmonton with a rich history in manufacturing and other employment uses. Our team worked closely with Enfield Council to ensure the proposals were well presented, fully justified and met the requirements of the occupier market whilst contributing to the borough’s economic growth and placemaking objectives."
The scheme has been designed by Chetwoods Architects.
