We provided Planning, Heritage and Townscape services for the ‘Queensway Parade’ development working with our client Vabel, who’s in-house architecture team carried out the full design of the project. This is the second major planning consent we have assisted in delivering on this site in the last two years.
The Queensway Parade scheme will demolish and redevelop the existing poor-quality building currently on-site, and deliver:
The delivery of Queensway Parade represents the final major phase in the £3 billion redevelopment of Queensway, redeveloping an existing poor-quality building which is located within a conservation area. Two interlinked buildings will be delivered, comprising a contemporary red brick mansion block, and a second stone based mansion block to complement the grade II listed Whiteley development on the other side of Queensway, a project we provided expert services for, along with a number of other developments along and around Queensway.

Underpinned by a process of extensive stakeholder engagement (in partnership with Concilio) and collaborative working with the City of Westminster, the proposal benefitted from strong local support, and received a unanimous resolution to grant approval at Westminster’s Strategic Planning Applications Committee, with local resident’s association speaking in support of the application.
Jeremy Spencer, Founder and Creative Director of Vabel said:
“The site has had a protracted journey over the last decade, and the building’s condition has deteriorated in that time. From purchase to planning committee, in just over a year, we can now realise the potential of this site with a transformative project delivering lasting value to the community [that] is one of the final, major development pieces on Queensway.”
Head of Central London Planning, Laurence Brooker added:
“This approval is a great result for Queensway. The development will provide nearly 100 new homes for Westminster, including significant on site affordable housing provision, alongside a range of commercial uses, and will replace one of the poorest buildings in the borough with two buildings of high quality sustainable design and contextual architecture. Turley is pleased to have provided expert services on this project ensuring a positive result at committee.”
