Turley strengthens South West and Wales offer with senior and emerging talent appointments

We have made a significant investment in our South West and Wales Planning team with a series of new appointments in our Cardiff office, including a key senior hire from the renewables sector.

Catrin Jones joined as Director, Planning earlier this month, bringing nearly two decades of experience in environmental planning, infrastructure consenting and strategic policy development. She was most recently Head of Environment & Consenting – Celtic Sea at BlueFloat Energy, where she led consenting strategies for early stage major offshore wind projects.

Catrin’s appointment bolsters our capabilities in Net Zero Infrastructure and reinforces our commitment to supporting the energy transition and infrastructure delivery across the region.

Speaking about her appointment, Catrin said:

“Turley’s integrated approach and purpose-led culture makes it an incredibly exciting place to continue my journey. I’m passionate about sustainable development and delivering infrastructure that creates lasting value, and I look forward to working with clients and colleagues to shape places that support a Net Zero future.”

Huw Jones, Director and Head of South West and Wales, added:

“Catrin is a strategic and creative problem solver whose deep expertise in environmental and infrastructure planning will be invaluable to our clients and colleagues. Her appointment reflects our confidence in the South West and Wales market and our ambition to continue growing our multi-sector offer.”

Alongside, Catrin’s appointment, we have also welcomed another three team members to further strengthen our offer in the region. Leo Horton-Taylor joined as a Senior Planner from Stantec, while Jamie Wright and Georgie King Brain both joined as Assistant Planners.

Of the further appointments, Huw commented:

“Welcoming another three Planners to our team not only strengthens our talent pipeline but will also help us to enhance our offering across multiple sectors. Jamie, Georgie and Leo all bring a range of skills and experience - but most importantly enthusiasm - that will help us to drive forward our ambitious plans and our ongoing impact across the region.”

These appointments come amid strong demand for planning support across the region. Our Cardiff office is advising on a growing number of projects in the net zero infrastructure, residential, commercial and health sectors, underpinned by long-standing client relationships and new opportunities aligned to our strategic priorities.

We remain proudly independent and employee-owned, delivering enduring value for clients, communities and the environment from 15 offices across the UK and Ireland.
