A Tribute to Meave Faulkner
It is with great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague Meave Faulkner passed away on 7 February.
Meave joined our London-based Heritage & Townscape team as an Associate Director in July 2019. She had previously worked for a number of planning authorities and at English Heritage and was well regarded for both her professional expertise and inclusive and approachable manner. Meave quickly established herself in private consultancy where her knowledge and sound professional judgement stood her in good stead in advising on a range of complex projects.
Meave was also particularly adept at bringing the best out in others, leading by example and always finding time to support, coach and mentor colleagues, very quickly becoming a vital member of our London team. Even the most pressing deadline or complex issue would be met with interest and a smile whilst she quietly focussed on what needed doing, by who and by when.
Above all, Meave brought great warmth and genuine care, a sense of calm and gentle assured confidence; coupled as always by her good humour. She had an intense passion for the historic environment and balanced being a mum with a successful career in what she loved doing. She was a great role model and exhibited the very best of our profession.
We are deeply saddened by her loss and will all miss her greatly. Our thoughts are with her family.
