Turley helps secure planning approval for care home in Bromley
Acting on behalf of Savista Developments, a construction specialist in the care home and retirement living sector, Turley has helped secure planning consent to transform St Raphael’s care home in Bromley into a new state-of-the-art care home on behalf of Hallmark Care Homes.
We provided expert Planning services for the project which will see Savista redevelop an existing disused care home into a larger 107-bed, specialist dementia home for residents with a range of care needs. Designed to Hallmark’s outstanding standards, the £30m scheme will provide extensive facilities including a cinema, café/bistro, shop, hair salon, gym, spa, ten pin bowling alley, hobby rooms and library. High-quality gardens will include a residents’ garden club area.
Savista anticipates starting construction within the next two months.

Phil Jones, Director at Turley commented:
“We’re delighted to have received planning approval on behalf of Savista and Hallmark Care Homes. With an expected increase in demand for care home beds over the next decade, it’s crucial that we recognise the need to provide housing for older people and work to meet the demand. The Bromley Care Home development will bring a disused brownfield site back into purposeful use, providing much needed high-quality, specialist accommodation in Bromley.”
Kevin Shaw, CEO of Savista, said:
“The new care home in Bromley represents a new phase of expansion for Savista. We are very pleased to help meet the growing demand for specialist care in the area. The development will provide an exceptional, high-quality place for local people to live; we’ll deliver much-needed care beds to this community as well as modern, communal spaces and specialist facilities.
“Alongside the Bromley scheme, we have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline and are seeking new land opportunities. We look forward to working with our partners and stakeholders to expand on our delivery of care homes and retirement living developments across the UK.”
