Supporting high-quality later living development in Belfast

Our role

• Planning permission for over-55’s independent living apartments.
• The site forms part of the former King’s Hall RUAS site, which is undergoing significant redevelopment to provide a Health and Wellbeing Park as part of a masterplan for the site. We provided planning consultancy services on the project, having had involvement in other phases of the masterplan.
• We negotiated the application to a successful result at Belfast City Council Planning Committee with a positive officer recommendation, following detailed and proactive negotiations on design and technical matters.

Results

• The result is a project of high-quality, with private and public amenity provision well in excess of standards, a design which is sympathetic to the existing and proposed contexts, which will become a focal point within the wider site.
• The project supports the wider regeneration of the King’s Hall site and enhances later living accommodation options for local residents, supporting the housing mix of the community and enhancing quality of life for residents.
