Assistant Consultant/Consultant, Strategic Communications

At Turley we are trusted independent advisors working collaboratively with our clients to shape a more sustainable future. We are looking for an ambitious Assistant Consultant or Consultant to join our Strategic Communications team in the East & South East of England (including London).

Turley Strategic Communications operates across the UK and Ireland, and focuses on creatively engaging people, to constructively mediate their influence within political, planning policy and place-making processes.

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Consultant or Consultant with a passion for communications, politics and people. In this role you will join our existing team serving the East & South East (including London) and based across our London, Reading and Cambridge offices, as well as the national Strategic Communications team in:

  • Planning and executing communications campaigns to assist with development proposals, regeneration and corporate affairs objectives including social value work;
  • Preparing for, attending and assisting with online and in-person public consultation events;
  • Drafting external collateral including writing press releases, social media campaign content and briefing papers;
  • Undertaking political and media research and monitoring; and evaluating and reporting on campaigns and consultation activity.

About you

The ideal candidate will be flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude. A degree (or equivalent) in a communications related subject is welcome (but not essential). Previous experience in communications or a consultancy role within a professional services environment is preferred but not essential. 

You will have a demonstrable interest in communications, politics and a passion for engaging with people. Your administrative skills should be at an exceptional level and cover a wide range of experiences.  What is important is your ability to learn quickly and to develop relationships whilst working within a highly professional team.
